200series,300series and 400series stainless steel

1.200 series: Chromium-Manganese-Nickel.Less corrosion resistant than 300 series. It’s a cheaper alternative to the 300 series.

2.300 series: Chromium-Nickel austenitic stainless steel.Including 301,303,304,304L,304N,309,310,310S,316,316L,321etc.Different grades has different characteristics.Among them,304 and 316 are the most widely used steel grades

301: is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel, can be cold worked to achieve higher strength and ductility, the magnetic properties will be enhanced with cold working. 301 stainless steel is an improved form of 304, with lower chromium and nickel content, which exhibits significant work hardening phenomenon during deformation. 301 stainless steel is widely used in trains, vehicles, bolts, springs, aircraft, conveyor belts and so on.
301L stainless steel: 301 steel composition based on the reduction of carbon content, through cold working can achieve higher strength. 301L stainless steel compared to ordinary steel has excellent fatigue resistance and corrosion resistance, high temperature strength is excellent, widely used in medical equipment, electronic components, tram vehicles inside and outside.
304 stainless steel: a common material in stainless steel, is a general-purpose stainless steel material, with good rust resistance, excellent high temperature resistance, good resistance to intergranular corrosion.

304L stainless steel: also known as ultra-low carbon stainless steel, general state of corrosion resistance similar to 304, after welding corrosion resistance will be particularly strong. 304L stainless steel is often used in coal, construction materials, chemical, heat-resistant parts and other equipment.
305 stainless steel: austenitic stainless steel, compared with 304, nickel content is high, has excellent mechanical properties, welding parts of the bending performance is excellent, suitable for deep processing, often used in western tableware, electronic components.
310S stainless steel: austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel, has a very good resistance to oxidation, corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance is superior, can be used in the manufacture of electric furnace tubes and other high temperature parts.
316 stainless steel: the price is higher compared to 304 stainless steel. Because of the addition of Mo, corrosion resistance, atmospheric corrosion resistance and high temperature strength, can be used in harsh conditions. Cold rolled surface gloss is good, high aesthetics, mainly used in seawater equipment, food industry, chemistry, dyes and so on.

316L stainless steel: has good resistance to intergranular corrosion, used in the food industry, coastal area facilities, heat exchangers.
321 stainless steel: in the 304 steel based on the addition of TI to prevent intergranular corrosion, with excellent high-temperature stress breaking and high-temperature resistance to latent change performance, used in aircraft exhaust, heat exchangers, boilers.

3.400 series:Ferritic and Martensitic stainless steel, no manganese.

400 series stainless steel has strong resistance to high temperature oxidation, compared with carbon steel, its physical properties and mechanical properties have been further improved. 400 series stainless steel is rich in metal elements, which is dominated by the content of iron and other metals, but this material does not belong to the food-grade materials, due to the presence of iron elements, its magnetic conductivity is very strong, and it is also often used to make the composite layer of the outer bottom of the induction cooker.
